Experience
As a student who constantly challenged myself, I enjoy helping others succeed as well so they can reach their true potential. I have been tutoring students of various grade levels and friends for several years. My favorite part, however, is seeing a student's face when they finally grasp a difficult concept. I know all students have great potential, so I love my job of helping people to get there. I have helped students go from getting C's to A's, and although this doesn't always happen, the students I work with always walk away with a stronger understanding of the material. What really makes me stand out among other tutors is my ability to adapt to the student's learning style. Many tutors and teachers are used to teaching material using a single method and are not experts in the subjects they teach. As an engineer, I've been trained to think differently- if one method doesn't work I just keep trying methods until one does. I am also extremely knowledgeable in the subjects I teach. I've taken extremely advanced math courses, in addition to other high level science courses, and have even earned a minor in mathematics. I have experience teaching students anywhere from elementary school to college with subjects ranging from algebra to calculus. Test Scores: - I achieved a 740 on the SAT Biology exam. - I scored a 760 on the SAT II Math Level 2 exam. - I earned a 2220 on the SAT (770 Math, 760 Writing, 690 Reading) -Please note the SAT has now changed back to a 1600 score format. Although the format is a bit different (especially with the reading and writing sections), I am still able to help with the SAT math portion of the exam. AP Scores: -AP Physics C Mechanics: 5 -AP Physics C E&M: 5 -AP Statistics: 5 -AP Calculus BC: 5 (AB Subscore= 5 as well) -AP Macroeconomics: 5 -AP Microeconomics: 4 Other Scores: -Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam: Passed (this is a pass/fail exam, no score is given. I passed on my first try.) More about me: - I am a hard worker and understand that different students have different learning styles and I can adapt to those styles. - In all the classes I offer to tutor, I have an A average and can explain any subject matter your child is having difficulty with in detail. - I graduated from High Technology High School, the #1 STEM school in the entire nation. -I graduated with a 3.95 GPA in Rutgers' Mechanical Engineering program, finishing in the top 2% of my class. - I am available to tutor during the evenings on weekdays or all day on weekends. I offer in-person tutoring as well as online-tutoring. Please contact me for my rate and current availability.
